About - Practice & Services

My practice is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins by slowing down. Whether you are seeking therapy during a life transition or clarity through a psychological evaluation, our work begins with curiosity about your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and the patterns that shape your inner life. Many people come in feeling stuck in ways that are hard to name: patterns that persist despite insight, effort, or even previous therapy. Often, these patterns developed in relationship and continue to shape how we see ourselves, what we expect from others, and what feels possible in love, work, and life. Together, we work to better understand these patterns and the underlying forces that keep them in place. Over time, this process can create space for something new: a different way of relating to yourself, to others, and to the challenges you are facing. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which old expectations can become more visible, more emotionally meaningful, and gradually more open to change. I work with individuals navigating life transitions, relationship changes, loss, and questions of meaning. Many of the people I see are thoughtful and self-aware, but find themselves repeating patterns they want to change.

I also specialize in working with:

  • global development and humanitarian aid workers

  • trauma survivors

  • individuals navigating grief and loss or major life transitions

  • individuals returning from international or high-intensity professional environments

This includes work around moral injury, vicarious trauma, and re-entry stress. My approach is informed by global mental health and shaped by years of experience in humanitarian settings.

In addition to psychotherapy, I provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for:

  • immigration and asylum cases

  • forensic and court-involved matters

I believe change is often difficult not because of a lack of effort, but because we are shaped by ways of seeing, protecting, and relating that feel familiar and fixed. The therapeutic relationship offers a space where these patterns can be recognized and explored with care, allowing new ways of understanding and new possibilities for experience to emerge. My work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based, with a foundation in psychodynamic and relational approaches. In addition to my clinical work, I also wear multiple professional hats, including serving as a Full Professor at the University of Denver.
